Getting Your Microsoft windows Product key

Much of the software that we use comes with some sort of protection to stymie efforts at piracy. On occasion, we may need to make use of such a Microsoft Windows Product Key or code, so we must know how to get it. Ways of getting it are outlined in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, try and recollect how this software was bought originally. This can help you decide how to locate your code. The purpose of this is that where the code can be found will be determined by how the software was originally bought.

As an example, if software has been purchased via retail, then the required code should be on the software case. It will be located either inside this case or on its back. In either event, you should have little difficulty in finding it and subsequently using it.

If the software was already installed on the computer when you purchased it, you can still find your required code. It should be found at the back of the PC casing itself. If not, then it will be on your computer's own registry, where you can take it down and then use it.

If the software was on an installation disc that you received with the computer, you can still find the needed code. It should either be on the disc itself or on packaging of said disc. Either way, you should be able to find it without much ado.

In summary, getting your Microsoft Windows Product Key is not a terribly difficult endeavour to carry out. Ultimately, it is simply a matter of knowing where to look for it depending upon the relevant circumstances. And the tips outlined in the previous paragraphs should go some way towards assisting you in doing just this.
